Of course, I very much welcome use of examples with your problem, so I can have a better idea of what to fix. If you have questions about why Maka did something or why she did so in the way she did, those are also encouraged.

Why does everyone on here seem to think Soul and I...

Even Hakuba-san...I was just asking about that kind of thing because I wanted to know how he feels about Akako-san and why, because Kaito said she's a witch!

Soul and I aren't like that! Why would we be? It'd be stupid and it would get in the way and it would-

Most partners aren't like that! People at Shibusen don't think that! ...Well, Papa always says those things to Soul, but that's just Papa being stupid. Is it just because the people here don't really know any other teams?

Kaito keeps saying it, and Karen-chan seems so sure... Why would anyone, especially my friends, think I feel that way? I don't!

Because I believe this topic will continue to be an issue (mwahaha), I felt the desire to explain Maka's feelings on romance.

Simply put, she doesn't trust it.

For those of you who don't know, Maka's father is a horrible philanderer. Maka watched his antics from an early age, and the effect they had on her mother. The divorce was relatively recent, but we can assume that Maka's parents had been bitterly separated for some time before that.

What she's observed has made Maka believe that "love" is often just a temporary infatuation that will betray and hurt you in the end. She will try to be encouraging to friends who find themselves in love, but she'll always be secretly terrified that these friends will end up hurt and possibly leaving. It took all her willpower to not overreact to Kaito's secret about Karen (though the end result has her admiring Kaito somewhat more). She believes in friendship much more than love. While friends can betray each other, in her view it's much less common, and friendship results in less pain and more help.

Of course, her parents' behavior has given her not only this view of love, but also some abandonment issues. She is very afraid of being left by someone she cares about, and since she believes that the likely outcome of a romantic relationship is that one party or the other will leave, she's afraid of entering into such a relationship. Also, her inferiority issues make her believe that being left is especially likely. (The girl is messed up. But that's part of why I love her.)

The bottom line, really, is that Maka's mother is her hero, and love hurt her mother. So she shies away from it.

Of course, the question you're all interested in is whether or not Maka is in love with Soul. The answer is yes. But if denial is a river, she's farther up it than friggin' Kurtz.

So, while I encourage people to pester her to get to recognize her feelings and have a better view of love, I do want you to know that I'm afraid you're going to have a very hard time of it.

Romance classes.

That's got to be the biggest waste of time I've heard of since I started at this community.

Honestly! Who would want classes about romance? You can't teach love! Classes are for...definite things, like...history.

And that Ran person is a stubborn jerk! Doesn't he have anything better to do?!

This is so stupid. I can't believe Soul and Kid let themselves get pulled into this.

We had some important tests at school, and I decided to cut myself off from the internet to study for them. I was going to make an entry saying that, but, aheh, then I would be on the internet, so I didn't.

Finally fixed the computer! I know a lot more about them too. There's something kind of funny about books on computers.

A lot more people have already joined that community. There's a lot to figure out there.

I've never had one of these journals before, so I looked around at what some other people do on theirs. A lot of people like these quizzes.

Medical info: Maka is of average build, but is strong, flexible, agile, and quite fast. She has a pretty impressive pain tolerance. Her immune system is pretty durable. She has been infected by Medusa's black blood, which strengthens insanity, but at this point it only comes out when she's resonating very strongly with Soul, so it's not likely to be an issue.

Notes for the psychics: Maka's got some abandonment issues courtesy of her parents. She also has a really terrible fear of failing people, specifically of not being good enough for Soul.

What's okay to mention around her: Pretty much anything. But be warned that she has got a strong sense of justice and little patience for stupidity.

Abilities: Maka is a very skilled fighter, just with Soul, in a large group, or even to a certain extent on her own. She's very intelligent and observant. And she can see people's souls if she concentrates, which also contributes to her being able to match with other people's soul wavelengths better than most meisters of her skill level.

Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/slash? Yes to the first two if planned. As for the third...talk to me about it.

Maim/Murder/Death Yes to being beat up when planned, no to death.

Hugging/Kissing/Badtouch Hugging-sure, though if you're not a good friend it could be a little awkward. Kissing-Maka chop! Badtouch-you are so very dead.
